It's Autumntime

Two weeks ago, we made a trip over to the fruitstand
in the next town over to choose some pumpkins.
Here she is with Amy showing off our haul.

After picking pumpkins, we stopped at the town's Harvest Festival.
For the kids, they had candle dipping...

an apple press for making apple juice...

a corn sheller...

a water pump...

and a rope bridge. There were also farm animals, a hay ride, and ax throwing.
(Lucy did not get a turn.)

But here's David giving it a try:
And yes, the ax lodged in the log.
(I just couldn't hold Amy, keep track of Lucy AND take a picture
before he went over and pulled it out.)

Gangsta Lucy

What a ham-and-a-half. Believe it or not, Lucy struck this pose all on her own. By way of an official update, as of last Friday, Lucy weighs 32 pounds and is 37 inches tall. She recognizes all 26 capital letters, and several words: LUCY, AMY, MOM, DAD, STOP, NOW, PARK, CAT, HAT, and BABY among others. In addition, she can spell the words from memory. We are beginning to work with her on the lower case letters as well as letter sounds.

Stay tuned!
