Finally! The Official Lucy Update!

I owe large quantities of apology to all you Lucy fans around the globe. Here, in 100 words or less, I will explain the obvious lack of current posts:

We got new carpet in our house, and it took the carpet layers 2 days to complete the project. This meant no computer access for 3 days. (27 words)

Lucy had the stomach flu for a few days. Two really bad days, one sorta bad day. I'm just glad she didn't puke on the new carpet. (I'm up to 54--46 more words and you get to see some Lucy pics.)

Blogger was down for maintenance, and I just never got back to publishing any posts. (That's 69 words, and mea culpa.)

I think I'll just leave it at that. (77.)

And now. . .the moment you've been waiting for. . .

The Official Lucy Update!

Lucy has been talking up a storm. She's a little "topy cat", and the best thing is that she is SO polite. She uses "please" and "thank you" all the time. If she doesn't want something, she replies with, "No, Ank-you!" And anytime someone sneezes or coughs she says, "Bess you!"

She loves to sing, and she can sing most of the "ABC Song" by herself. Daddy taught her to recognize the letters "A" for "Abby", "D" for "Daddy", "L" for "Lucy", and "M" for "Mommy". When she sees one of the letters she knows, she names not only the letter, but what it stands for. She also recognizes the number 2.

She's trying hard to be a grown-up girl and use the potty, but so far, it's been hit and miss, pardon the pun. We read "The Princess and the Potty" at least twice a day, so I'm sure something is sinking in.

We'll be celebrating her 2nd birthday on Sunday, and then Aunt Lexie and Ya-Ya will be coming to visit for a few days next week.

And now for the pictures!

Lavender has always been her color!

She's pretty darn cute in turquoise too!

A Short Update

Sorry there have been no updates lately. We got new carpet throughout our house last week, and that left me with no computer access until Wednesday (oh the inhumanity!). I am still trying to get things put back in order after the carpet guys were here, on top of trying to keep up with laundry, dishes and all that other stuff.

But you didn't come here to read about ME! You came to see what Lucy has been up to! Her days are filled with playing with friends, going for walks, singing, dressing up in her "pretty dress" and "pretty shoes" from her dress-up box, and talking up a storm. Her new phrase this week is, "Yes, it is."

I've taken some new pictures of her, and I'll get them posted a little later today.

Thanks for being patient!
